Export analysis for India and decision support
Which strategies should you implement, and which entry methods should you adopt to minimize risk and optimize investment? Our Analysis and Decision Support services for India are an essential tool for understanding the competitive environment and the requirements for operating in India, and for defining the organizational and commercial model to adopt and the objectives to achieve.
01
Market analysis
The service gives a precise picture of the competitive environment in which the company intends to operate. Specifically:
- Definition of the market potential, the main competitors and their positioning;
- Definition of the target audience and mapping of potential customers and/or business partners;
- Identification of the best sales channels to reach the desired target;
- Description of the regulatory framework, required certifications and pre- and post-sales service expectations;
To carry out this detailed analysis we use internal databases, interviews with industry operators and consultants, contacts with trade associations, visits to local trade fairs and analysis of customs transactions.
02
Feasibility plans
The purpose of the feasibility plan is to:
- Define a suitable entry, positioning and development strategy for the Indian market;
- Optimize the human and financial resources needed for internationalization activities;
- Reduce the time needed for investments to break even;
- Plan the set-up of a production site in the area.
The feasibility plan involves drafting four documents:
- Quantitative and/or qualitative market research, to understand the competitive context of the company’s sector and identify the “conditio sine qua non” for reaching the market effectively;
- A “go-to-market” plan defining the marketing strategy for entering the Indian market, based on the market analysis, the company’s objectives and its available resources;
- A business plan defining the investments, cash flow and economic-financial impact of the whole project; this document is also the starting point for scouting public or private funding;
- A project plan setting out the concrete activities and timeframes for entering and developing in the Indian market.
03
Incentive scouting
The service consists of searching for funding and incentives to finance internationalization activities. The search covers:
- In Europe: public bodies such as the European Union, national authorities or regions often provide subsidized or non-repayable financing.
- In INDIA: states and territories very often offer incentive packages to attract foreign investment; these can include subsidized public financing, tax credits, simplified work visa procedures, etc. Incentives vary by state, business sector and number of jobs created, and companies investing in production activities are favoured.
- Through angel investors or venture capital firms: GEN INDIA can scout investors to finance established companies with high growth rates.
